¡El escenario es mucho más que un lugar donde actuar: es un compañero creativo en la improvisación! A través de juegos, ejercicios y actividades grupales, los participantes explorarán cómo utilizar el movimiento, las posiciones del cuerpo, las distancias y la imaginación para transformar un escenario vacío en un mundo lleno de posibilidades. Descubriremos cómo ocupar el espacio, crear ambientes imaginarios, construir imágenes escénicas poderosas y contar historias sin depender únicamente de las palabras. ¡Porque en la improvisación no solo importa lo que sucede, sino también dónde y cómo sucede!

Biografía del instructor

Miki Vargas es un actor, clown, improvisador y director de teatro peruano con más de 25 años de trayectoria en las artes escénicas. Inició su camino teatral a los seis años y posteriormente se formó en Pataclaun y Bola Roja, donde también trabajó como clown hospitalario durante más de una década. Cofundador de Teatro del Disfuerzo en Perú e Impropios Latin Improv en Austin, Texas, ha creado, dirigido y actuado en numerosas producciones de teatro, clown e improvisación. Su trabajo lo ha llevado a festivales de teatro internacionales en América Latina y Europa. Actualmente dirige Suspects (Sospechosos), un espectáculo de comedia y misterio improvisado en Austin.

The Stage Improvises, Too! (A Workshop in Spanish)

The stage is more than just a place to perform - it’s a creative partner in improvisation! Through playful exercises and group activities, participants will explore how to use movement, body positioning, distances, and imagination to transform an empty stage into a world full of possibilities. We’ll discover how to occupy the space, create imaginary environments, build powerful stage pictures, and tell stories without relying solely on words. Because in improv, it’s not just about what happens, but where and how it happens!

About the Instructor

Miki Vargas is a Peruvian actor, clown, improviser, and theater director with over 25 years of experience in the performing arts. He began his theatrical journey at the age of six and later trained at Pataclaun and Bola Roja, where he also worked as a hospital clown for over a decade. Co-founder of Teatro del Disfuerzo in Peru and Impropios Latin Improv in Austin, Texas, he has created, directed, and performed in numerous theater, clown, and improvisation productions. His work has taken him to international theater festivals across Latin America and Europe. He currently directs Suspects (Sospechosos), an improvised comedy and mystery show in Austin.
